By downloading or using Sober Thoughts (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What Sober Thoughts Is

Sober Thoughts is a wellness companion application that delivers curated recovery-related quotes, affirmations, and reflections through iOS widgets and an in-app library. Content is drawn from public-domain sources and original writing, editorially reviewed before publication.

What Sober Thoughts Is Not

Sober Thoughts is not a medical device, treatment program, therapy tool, crisis service, or substitute for professional help.

The App provides motivational and reflective content only. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. It does not provide medical advice, psychological counseling, or crisis intervention.

Sources and Accuracy

Content in the App includes:

• AI-assisted original writing, editorially reviewed by humans
• Excerpts and adaptations from public-domain texts
• User-submitted content (in future versions, subject to moderation)

We make reasonable efforts to ensure content is accurate, respectful, and appropriate for people in recovery. However, we do not guarantee that any specific piece of content will be helpful, appropriate, or accurate for your individual situation.

Content Modes

The App offers three content modes (Faith & Program, Mindful & Open, Science & Self) to serve diverse recovery approaches. The inclusion of faith-based content does not constitute religious endorsement. The inclusion of secular content does not constitute dismissal of spiritual approaches. Users choose their preferred mode.

AI Disclosure

Some content in the App was generated with AI assistance and reviewed by human editors. This is disclosed in the App’s About section. We do not represent AI-generated content as having been written by any specific person.

Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

The App offers substantial functionality at no cost, including all content modes, core categories, home screen widgets, and daily rotation.

Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through an auto-renewable subscription purchased via the Apple App Store. Subscription terms:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings
• No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period

Pricing is displayed in the App and may vary by region. Apple processes all payments; we do not receive or store your payment information.

Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Not redistribute, copy, or republish App content without permission
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Not use the App in any way that could harm others or misrepresent its purpose

Intellectual Property

All original content, design, code, and branding in Sober Thoughts are owned by Infinit3 Development or used under license. Public-domain source material is attributed where applicable. The fern sprout logo and “Sober Thoughts” name are trademarks of Infinit3 Development.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sober Thoughts and Infinit3 Development shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to emotional distress, relapse, or decisions made based on App content.

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
